What is Deep Rock Galactic
Deep Rock Galactic is a 4-player sci-fi co-op shooter taking place in procedurally generated and 100% destructible caves on an extremely hostile alien planet. You play as a team of badass dwarven space miners, out to complete missions for your corporate overlords and to collect as much gold, gems, and other precious minerals as you possibly can before you're overrun. To complete your tasks, you're equipped with a wide variety of severely hard-hitting weapons as well as a slew of hand gadgets. Set up turrets, call down supplies, build staircases up walls, or simply just drill your way to your objective - the choice is yours!

Is this game cross platform
No, currently the game does not support players joining between platforms, and your save game is not transferable between platforms.
When is the next update coming
If you follow the game on Steam or join our discord you will get updates on new updates and any other news we post.
Is there a Single Player mode
While the game really is meant to be experienced with others, you can play it as a single player experience. You will then be joined on missions by Bosco, a loveable, useful, and overall awesome robot helper.

Modding Support
How will I be able to install mods through Mod.io as a player?
You can access the Modding Menu from within the game. There you can subscribe to mods through mod.io. It will require you to link your steam account to a mod.io account and accept mod.io’s Terms of Use. Once you have done that, any DRG mods you subscribe to will show up in the Modding Menu. Here you can install, enable/disable, and organize all of your mods.
How will I be able to submit mods to Mod.io as a mod developer?
You can submit mods on our mod.io DRG space here.
Why did you choose mod.io and not Steam workshop, Nexus Mods, Thunderstore, or just doing your own solution?
The key reason for choosing Mod.io was the Unreal SDK integration, support for the approval categories system that we are planning, and solutions for uploading mods to the platform. While all of the platforms we looked at had different benefits, Mod.io was the best fit for what we are trying to do. Mod.io also supports Windows 10 and Xbox which provides interesting opportunities for expanding modding support to more players, but that is not something we have planned in the near future.
Will everyone be required to accept Mod.io Terms and Conditions or only if you want to use mods?
You will only be required to accept Mod.io Terms and Conditions if you want to use mods from Mod.io. If you do not use mods then you should not encounter this in the game.
Will I be able to enable/disable mods in the game?
You can enable and disable mods when you’re in the space rig. When you apply any changes you will be reloaded into the start of the space rig. But you won’t have to restart the game for changes to take effect.
How will approval categories be assigned?
All Deep Rock Galactic mods submitted to Mod.io will have the approval category ‘Sandbox’ by default. We and the modding community will look through new mods regularly and change their approval category depending on how they meet the guidelines. We currently approve most weekdays
Will this solution split the playerbase?
We do not expect this to be the case, but we will monitor this and react if it becomes a significant issue.
Where can I find the guidelines for different approval categories?
You can find the guidelines for the approval categories and modding in general in our mod.io guidelines.
Will mods get automatic updates?
Yes, whenever the mod developer in question makes an update that update should be installed automatically when you are in the space rig. So when you subscribe to a mod you will receive future updates to that mod.
Will mods require constant online connection (no offline play)?
Based on what we know so far we expect that you should be able to use mods in offline play, but we have not tested this yet. We will update the FAQ accordingly if we discover otherwise. You will of course have to be online to download mods.
Do mods have to go through progression/vanilla approval again after an update?
Not by default, no. We will rely on the honesty of the modders to not include changes that would conflict with the current approval category of a given mod, or in case they do then raise it with us, either through mod.io, our discord server, or some other way of contact.
I am a mod developer and want to Appeal the approval category of my mod, how do I do that?
You should be able to find all updated information on the approval process in the DRG Mod.io guidelines.
As a player, can I prevent having mods in my game from other players, or joining a modded server by accident?
Players with Approved or Sandbox mods will not be able to join your unmodded game. Players with verified mods installed can join, but the Verified category is limited to mods that should not change the game for other players in any significant way, like local audio changes or QoL features. Ideally, they should work as if they were a part of the base game.
I want to join a modded server but I don’t have the same mods installed. Will the game auto-download the mods for me or do I have to download them manually?
When joining a modded server you will get a prompt showing you which mods are installed and if you want to download them. Then the game will make sure to download them for you and deactivate them once your session is done.
I live in China and I can't access the mod.io page
We are aware that players in China don't have access to modding support through mod.io. We don't currently have a solution to this, if the situation changes we will communicate it.
